Chambers and base units

Ancillary and interface items
For each location, add cover lifting accessories, sealing arrangements and frame bedding. Keep connections to ducts, pipes and paving listed against the relevant chamber.

- State the required clear opening dimensions and chamber depth or adjustable range. Distinguish cover size from frame size.

- Ask for the specified body material and any project treatment. Confirm whether the supplier offers the approved alternative rather than a generic option.
- Seating, sealing and bedding
- Describe the required seating face, gasket or seal and bedding method. Keep these items separate from the cover unit.
- Chamber sections and bases
- List base slab, riser sections, knockout details and sump or channel features where specified. Request the supplier's assembly breakdown.

Group by location and load duty, not by a single generic material description. Show cover, frame, chamber and accessories as separate line entries where the project detail requires it.
Is chamber depth part of the cover quote?
A cover-and-frame offer may exclude the chamber below it. Provide the required chamber depth and ask for a breakdown of the base, riser sections and any height-adjustment components included.
What should be confirmed around the frame?
Identify the bedding, paving transition and any seal or gasket required. Ask the supplier to state what is included at the frame perimeter and what is site work.
