- State the exact board name, material composition, thickness, format and any project-prescribed density or surface requirement.

- Facing and edge profile
- Ask whether the offer includes square, recessed or other edge geometry, and which facing is specified for finishing.
- Board and assembly requirements
- List the moisture and exposure requirements for the board and any wind-load or fire-performance requirements for the complete assembly from the approved project specification.
- Joint and fixing package
- Clarify whether reinforcing mesh, jointing compound, fasteners and corner accessories are within the board package scope.
- Cut sizes and board utilization
- Request supplied dimensions, cut-size plan and anticipated waste separately from the net board area.

Should I request cement board only for wet areas?
Procure by project location. A wall schedule may require cement-based boards also for shafts, external soffits or fire-designated linings, so list every reference from the detail set.
How are reinforcing and jointing accessories enumerated?
Give joint lengths, corner positions and fastener layout in the same takeoff as board quantity. Ask suppliers to state net board area and accessory items separately.
